Logo for a community bicycle education program. Goals were to evoke local symbolism (seen in the mill building and the rooster – a Rhode Island Red) and embody an industrial and empowering character.
I discovered a certain graphic designer named Margo Chase, who had graduated from my alma mater, and similar to myself, she began a design career after studying a non-design discipline. I sent her this ransom note made of letters from her logos.

A self-initiated project studying the optical effects of depth. The security guard in the photo puts forth his hand to stop something from happening but unleashes a chain reaction that takes over the composition.
While working in Los Angeles, I grew jaded with the antagonistic culture fairly quickly. To me, there was no community – only people trying to tear each other down. As I was driving on a highway overpass, I had a vision of the skyscrapers in the distance – that they formed a wasp’s nest over the city.
A print message which appeared in the Santa Monica Daily Mirror to thank local supporters of the Hurricane Katrina relief effort.
